Having a website is one, if not, the important things to have as an illustrator/designer/freelancer. It is an opportunity to advertise and promote your work, leading to work and commissions. A website has many benefits including the points picked up on this website.
Having previously learnt Adobe DreamWeaver and Flash, and designing and building a few websites including my own, I feel confident to re-design and update my website during this project ready for employment after University.
Plans and things to do for my website:
- keep simple layout, similar to old website
- consider combining a few new layouts that are relevant to my work and style
- re-design logo/name
- look at typefaces and consider user friendly ones
- gather and re-size/format images that I want to use for my content
- re-photograph artwork for website
- design the website so that it says 'Emily Hadden' and illustrates who I am and what I do
- update my blog to sync with my website
- text descriptions for briefs with a concept
- a range of design, illustration and photography, make sure I show the work I am the most proud of and represent what I want to do
Website considerations/formats
- image size: height 550 px/dpi 72/RGB
- using images as buttons/links
- including direct link to blog and email
